What is Nexus Con?
Since 2015, the team at Blue Sky Community Services (formerly Mid Coast Communities) have been running Nexus Con – an annual pop culture event held in Coffs Harbour, NSW, attended by almost 2,000 people from across NSW, VIC, and QLD. The attendance rate has increased by over 25% each year, having almost tripled since its launch in 2015. The event was the brain child of young people on the Mid North Coast whose vison was to create an inclusive, family-friendly event that would bring together like-minded people to share their interests in all things pop culture.
Who are Blue Sky Community Services?
We are a not-for-profit community organisation whose vision is to support people to thrive and create communities where everyone belongs.
We deliver best practice, culturally safe, flexible and responsive services in the following areas: Families, Young People & Communities; Disability and Inclusion; and Community & Sector Development.
Why host Nexus Online?
Amid the international Covid-19 pandemic, events of all kinds have been postponed or cancelled.
For many of our participants Nexus is an annual highlight – so cancelling was not an option we wanted to consider!
